Native to Southeast Asia, Rambután is commonly grown in warm tropical or semi-tropical regions. The tree germinates 10 to 21 days after the seed is planted and is ready to harvest in about 5 years. As trees mature they settle to one main fruiting per year and a window of 3 to 5 months of harvest. It typically takes 4 months from flower to harvest.
